This past weekend our very own TriCity Representative Alim Nathoo got the chance to attend the Kitchener Collectibles Expo. The Kitchener Collectibles Expo features a great mix of both recent and vintage collectibles including but not limited to Old and new Die Cast Toys, Super Hero Action Figures, WWE Wrestling Action Figures, UFC Action Figures, G.I. Joes, Transformers, Comic Books, Retro Video Games, Dinky Toys, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, Pez, Farm Toys, John Deere Collectibles, Construction Toys, NASCAR Die Cast and other NASCAR Collectibles, and so much more. Along with being able to check out the amazing collectibles, Alim also go the chance to sit down with a few of the amazing collectors at the show. Some were not so open but a few of the collectors were more than willing to talk about their set up. One of the collectors was the Samuari Bear Collectibles booth which was run by Nigel and Paul. Samuari Bear Collectibles is a site designed by fans of collectibles, comics, action figures and so much more. For the people by the people. It is located in Toronto, Canada but available to sell anywhere in the world.

Here is a few questions from Alim's interview with SBC:

1) Why did you choose to go in this business? I needed a change from my 9-5 job and I wanted to follow my passion

2) How many collectable events have you done? This is our 3rd event and the other events we did were Burlington and Mississauga.

3) Any advice on how to get into the business? Stick with it, be comfortable and learn from past mistakes.

Another booth runner he got to sit down and speak with was Bob from the Halton County Railway Museum. The Halton County Radial Railway is a working museum of electric streetcars, other railway vehicles, trolleybusses and buses. It is operated by the Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association. Bob was more than welcome to answer a few questions for us.

Here are a few questions from Alim's interview with Bob:

1) What were you doing before you became a part of Halton? I am a former Military Musician where I served military bands and specific military reservist concerts. I retired in 2001.

2) What are you currently doing since retirement? I am now volunteering full time with the Halton Country Railway Museum.

3) Do you enjoy what you do at Halton? Absolutely. I would not change it for the world.

After a long but successful day at the Expo, Alim had this to say about the event:

"Kitchener Collections had a variety of goods including cars, trucks, buses, movies, Anime along with various action figures. Also, one of the groups that I found to be very fascinating was the Halton County Radical Railway that were present and they had a bunch of cool photos on their screen to show other people about the beauty of Streetcars. I got to talk to the couple that were working there and they were more than willing to talk about the antiques of Streetcars and the differences in the operations of these streetcars. Furthermore, they showed me a bunch of membership fees along with how they took the time to even do an interview with me along with the fact that I got a photograph with them. There was a lot of friendly vendors that were willing to answer any questions that I may have had. I dealt with one vendor where he gave me the entire Spiderman collection set for $10.00 which I thought was a steal. I look forward too many more future events with Kitchener Collections."
