All fans of the Merc-with-a-Mouth rejoice! The 10-episode first season of a brand new animated series is scheduled to air on FXX in 2018! Slated to be produced by Marvel Television in association with FX Productions and ABC Signature Studios, the series will be produced by Golden Globe winner Donald Glover, known best for his role in “Community” and as the creator of the comedy-drama “Atlanta”, and his brother Stephen. Also on board as executive producers are Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory of Marvel.
The film Deadpool, released in 2016, received critical acclaim from fans and critics alike, sparking a wave of Deadpool-love and a resurgence of the R-rated superhero fil genre. While there is no word on if Ryan Reynolds, the actor who portrayed Deadpool in the film version, will be involved in the series, there will likely be no short of adult humour involved with the vulgar comic book character’s animated series.
Little information is known at this time on what heroes and villains may be featured, it can be agreed that all fans alike will hopefully see faces we all know and love, and maybe some we don’t, and hope there is no censorship of Deadpool’s crude humour that makes him so well-liked. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming series! You may start seeing commercials for this series soon!
