With the release of the film Wonder Woman, people are looking back at the classic television shows and comics that started it all. The character of Wonder Woman made her comic debut in 1942, and has had many issues of her own comic and appeared in numerous others. With so many editions with her appearing on the cover, how could we chose our favourite? Comicbook.com put together a list of their favourite Wonder Woman covers so that you can view the various styles and formats that have been used to bring Wonder Woman to life for over 75 years.

10. Wonder Woman #609 – Wonder Woman was recently rebooted and returned to her classic comic roots; the cover art was drawn by Chris Beckett and Alex Garner for two versions, Wonder Woman is seen busting through an old cover version of herself to display her classic costume, rebirthing herself in a way.

9. Wonder Woman #152 – Adam Hughes’ depictions of DC heroines are classic, so it made sense that his art work for the cover would make a stand out appearance. Bracers crossed in front of her face, her eyes are nearly white and piercing into your soul, sending a shiver down your spine and reminding you of the immense power this woman has.

8. Wonder Woman Vol. 2 #31 – George Perez is one of the better known Wonder Woman artists, so its no surprise that this cover stood out amongst his many covers; the Cheetah and Wonder Woman face off in a black, white, and red setting in front of a blood dripping moon. The intensity of battle is easily conveyed through this cover, making it a memorable piece in the collection.

7. Wonder Woman #16 (Rebirth) – This cover was designed by newcomer artist Bilquis Evely, who depicted Wonder Woman bearing a sword and shield, in full amour and a cape standing before a tree and a purple sky. She looks regal, elegant, and fierce, all things that come to mind when one thinks of the famous heroine.

6. Wonder Woman Vol. 4 #23 – Cliff Chiang, one of the many artists to grace the covers of Wonder Woman with his art, created this classic cover. Featuring the cackling mouth of Ares with a flowing, tentacle-y beard looming as Wonder Woman stalks towards the reader, axes in each hand, ready for battle. It effectly portrays the battle maiden she is and the visual sticks in the mind of readers, drawing them in.

5. Wonder Woman New Edition – Surrounded by eagles, bracered arms cross, and a forceful look in her eyes, Wonder Woman looks both beautiful and resilient in this cover issue by Terry and Rachel Dodson. “Who is Wonder Woman?” draws the reader in with the rich, vibrant colours and the visage of the amazing hero she is.

4. Wonder Woman #3 (Rebirth) – Another rebirth edition, this time presenting art by Liam Sharp. This issues highlighted the struggles Wonder Woman faced at this time, but the cover exemplifies her resilience despite adversity looming.

3. Wonder Woman #63 – Featuring art by Brian Bolland, this cover is a classic for several reasons. Its simplicity in its design, with Wonder Woman simply standing straight on, holding her Lasso of Truth and starring down readers, with a simple message of “Miss me?” is all that is needed.
