Wonder Woman 2 Potential Release Date Revealed

It’s been less than two months since “Wonder Woman” was released and fans of all ages are begging for more. Directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, and Connie Nielson, the film captures audiences with it’s feminist tone, badass female leads, and beautiful execution. The film is still dominating the box office records, having grossed over $783 million to date! It can only be assumed that a sequel is in the books, though it is still too early to say when that may be, but that doesn’t stop the rumour mill spitting out the theories!

The Hollywood Reporter columnist Pamela McClintock (@PamelaDayM on Twitter) tweeted on July 19: “Less than a week after I wrote this story, an untitled WB/DC pic is dated for 6/5/20. Look for #ComicCon reveal that it’s #WonderWoman2!”. McClintock stated that she believed the intended release date for the next WW movie was June 4, 2020 and that it would be announced at San Diego Comic Con the following week.

Her prediction was proven partially correct last Saturday at SDCC. Warner Bros. announced that the release date for “Wonder Woman 2” would be December 13, 2019. Gal Gadot was initially only contracted for three films as Wonder Woman, but has since extended her contract; additionally, Patty Jenkins and writer Geoff Johns were previously working on a script for the WW sequel, with Johns stating he had “a cool idea for the second one”.
